Promises, Promises star Kristin Chenoweth will be inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame on November 4. The Tony-winning actress is a native of Broken Arrow (a suburb of Tulsa), and graduated from Oklahoma City University with a BFA in musical theater and a master's degree in opera performance.
Chenoweth received a Tony Award for her performance in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. She was also nominated for her role as Glinda in Wicked. Her other Broadway credits include Steel Pier, The Apple Tree and Epic Proportions. She received an Emmy Award for her role as Olive Snook on TV's Pushing Daisies. She has also appeared on Glee, Ugly Betty, Sit Down and Shut Up, The West Wing, Sesame Street and Kristin as well as the TV adaptations of Annie and The Music Man. Her many film credits include You Again, Running With Scissors, Four Christmases, Deck the Halls, Stranger Than Fiction, Bewitched and The Pink Panther.
In addition to her extensive acting career Chenoweth was runner-up in the 1991 Miss Oklahoma beauty pageant. She has also released three solo albums: Let Yourself Go in 2001, As I Am in 2005 and A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas in 2008. She is currently at work on a fourth album.
